George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead/Night of the Living Dead

Diary of the Dead

Coming back to life never looked so good… With great anticipation, George A. Romero’s fifth and latest installment, Diary of the Dead, and the 40th Anniversary edition of the Night of the Living Dead rise to DVD May 20th under the Dimension Extreme label from Genius Products and The Weinstein Company.

While shooting their own low-budget horror movie, a group of young film students run into real-life zombies, ravenously walking corpses attacking and killing the living. Presented in a first-person style that heightens the reality of each encounter, the entire film is seen through footage from the students’ camcorders, cell phones, security cameras and news footage. It also features voiceover talent that includes Quentin Tarantino (Death Proof, Planet Terror), Guillermo del Toro (“Hell Boy”), Wes Craven (The Hills Have Eyes, Nightmare On Elm Street) and author Stephen King (The Stand, The Shining), among others.

The NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 40TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION DVD features a fully restored and remastered version of the original 1968 classic film and bonus materials, overseen by the master himself. This DVD marks George A. Romero’s long legacy with great interviews and multiple featurettes that emphasize the quality of this ultimate horror classic. The DIARY OF THE DEAD DVD bonus features include an optional audio commentary by George A. Romero, character confessions, a making of and the top five Myspace contest shorts.

DIARY OF THE DEAD Synopsis:

A group of film students are making an independent horror film when they become trapped in a world being consumed by flesh-eating zombies.
